Most often, a mix of both!

With the annual licensing season wrapping up, we are receiving lots of requests from clients wanting assistance with the age old dilemma of whether it’s better to license content in bulk or secure content on a pay-per-view basis.  Perhaps it's due to the lingering economic challenges and the need to do more with a smaller budget, but we also believe it's because there are so many options to choose from it's not always clear which solution brings the best value for the lowest cost.

There’s definitely no one model that fits all organizations, and we have found that the most efficient and cost effective content procurement solutions include a mix of licensed, pre-paid, and pay-per-view content.

Determining which model suits your organization starts by performing a detailed review of content usage over 12 to 24 months for all content users within the entire organization.  By gaining a comprehensive understanding of what’s being used, by whom, how often, and the cost of the content, a detailed licensing strategy can be designed to save money on all sources and types of content.

Part of the success of this approach is detailed reporting and ongoing analysis so that changes to the strategy can be updated as the needs of the organization evolve over time.

Benefits of looking at content strategically include the ability to lower the cost of content procurement and lower operating costs by streamlining processes.  By partnering with experts, you can leverage direct relationships with publishers and benefit from vast experience across all market sectors.
