Staff Augmentation for Your
Information Center |
 | |
|
Many corporate organizations, both
large and small, have been facing the need to
scale back and trim budgets, yet still deliver
the same level of productivity and service to
internal and external clients. Those in the life
sciences and other R&D-based industries have
felt the pinch, particularly over the last
several years, and the corporate library within
these corporations is no exception.
This has created an environment where
corporate library directors and corporate
information center leaders are looking for
flexible, yet cost effective solutions to
supplement vital information professional roles,
critical to the function, growth and innovation
of these organizations. Since these jobs are so
connected to the core of the organization, a
traditional outsourcing or temporary staffing
relationship, while likely saving some up-front
costs, simply will not work. Instead, these
organizations may want to consider
"in-sourcing", which can both cut costs, as well
as add highly knowledgeable, skilled and
dedicated full-time staff to a department,
without the challenges associated with
increasing internal head-count. With
in-sourcing, a provider such as Infotrieve,
recruits a corporate information center
specialist to work within your library,
side-by-side with your other employees, but the
in-sourced specialist is in fact hired as a
full-time employee by Infotrieve, with
Infotrieve responsible for all HR and management
issues, including payroll, career development
and benefits.
Infotrieve has a complete range of
library services available to support your
information center. Our services are highly
flexible to suit a wide range of information
center needs, all with the goal of allowing your
core internal personnel to focus on high-value
projects, while maintaining the high levels of
service your library patrons have come to
expect. Watch for our newest leadership
briefing, "How corporate library leaders can
benefit from the new in-sourcing staffing
model," set to hit your inbox in early 2013. In
the meantime, please contact us
with any questions about our "in-sourcing" model
or corporate library capabilities.
